My cousin Erika is turning 50 this year. She decided to celebrate with her family and closest friends with a fabulous birthday weekend. One of the nicest things she did for her guests is to order 15 sets of red jewelry for the ladies to wear in a photo shoot and gave them as gifts to them. This was a fun order! It was also very thoughtful and each person was able to choose the necklace that best suited them.

One of my inspirations is what I consider the beautiful mixture of colors and hues that I find in South Asian cultures. This picture depicts one of the gorgeous styles from www.DollyFashions.com and is called Salwar Kameez style that describes the pants and long shirt that is popular in South and Central Asia. When I was deployed to Kuwait, I fell in love with the rich colors and brought that inspiration to my jewelry designs. My sister actually liked this bracelet so much that I had to make one for her on the spot! Although the colors stayed the same, the design varies so every one of my customers has a unique, one-of-a-kind piece. This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting my mother's high school classmate's daughter, Steffie, who is half Korean and was born and raised in Germany. She speaks German, French and English beautifully and has a bright and adventurous personality. We liked her instantly! She asked me to make a bracelet for her. I told her it would mean more if she made it herself. I sat her down at my design table and she chose the beads. I instructed her on how to make a memory coil bracelet and gave examples. Three hours later, a masterpiece in creativity emerged. This smile is what makes teaching exciting and fun. One of my dear friends (and one of my best sales consultants) gathered a whole bunch of vintage jewelry 

she had collected over the years and asked me to re-make the jewelry into new pieces, but to keep the

vintage flair. I love projects like these because I can truly be creative, but sometimes I do hope that I am

creating pieces that my clients truly love because they have a vision for the sets and I hope to match their

vision. I have already made more than 20 necklace sets, rings, and bracelets for her. I didn't realize that I 

had made that many until I counted them later and I'm still not finished!

This year, residents and visitors of San Antonio, TX, celebrate the

123rd year of Fiesta-San Antonio from April 10-27. Fiesta* started in

1891 to honor the heroes from the Battle of Alamo and the Battle

of San Jacinto with over 100 events and showcases depicting all of

the rich cultural history and multi-cultural heritage that make San

Antonio one of my favorite cities. I love the diversity, the people,

the friendliness, the atmosphere, and of course, the FOOD!





The colors in this hand-made 12 coil memory wrap bracelet reflect the colors of Fiesta* which are fuchsia,

turquoise, purple, gold, lime green, and orange. All of the bracelets I make are one-of-a-kind and made with

One of my dearest clients got engaged this year and

wanted to celebrate the news at a party with close

friends and family. She requested an orange and

brown long necklace to match her cute orange dress.

I knew how much she loves matching sets, so I

included a matching memory wire bracelet and some

adorable hoop earrings. This set has murano glass

beads, pearls, ceramic beads, crystal rondelles,

hammered metal spacers and glass beads.

One of the my best sales representatives that I have been blessed to know

is TaLisa W. who is a down-to-earth, intelligent, independent Delta soro,

 "fashion-divanista" and a good friend. She doesn't know it yet, but she will

be rocking this antique gold twisted  chain necklace. I added three linked

iridescent studded chains and linked creamy white pearls together along with

crystal rondelle glass beads on a chain and wove them in between the

braided chain. This was a time-consuming piece, but she is worth it for all of
